Pearl Shaw Named President of Saad&Shaw
Memphis, TN – January 18, 2018
Pearl Shaw has been appointed President of Saad&Shaw – Comprehensive Fund Development Services.
Shaw’s experience includes private sector business development and nonprofit fund development. She has worked directly with college and university presidents, trustees, and nonprofit executives for the past 14 years, providing guidance and coaching in the areas of campaign planning and case for support development.
“Pearl provides a special brand of creativity and leadership that has sustained Saad&Shaw as it has grown to national prominence,” said Melvin Shaw, co-founder and vice president of Saad&Shaw.
Shaw is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, a Certified Fundraising Executive, and a graduate of the Leadership Memphis Executive Program, She currently serves on the board of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation, appointed by Governor Bill Haslam.

Prior to forming Saad&Shaw, Shaw headed her own successful communications consultancy, Phrased Write. She has also served as Development Director of the Women’s Funding Network, an international association of women and girls’ foundations. Her private-sector experience includes operations management, business development, and marketing. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Master’s in Public Administration from California State University East Bay.
Committed to giving back, Shaw writes the weekly column and blog FUNdraising Good Times distributed to publications across the country. She is also the co-author, with Melvin Shaw, of four books on fundraising that share their philosophy and strategies with those who want to succeed.
